SeekWheelz is a peer-to-peer vehicle rental marketplace operating in Sri Lanka. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Account details: full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and nationality. Identity documents: a copy of your national ID or passport, your driving licence photo, and (for owners) a proof-of-address document such as a utility bill, mobile bill, or bank statement — these are required to verify who you are before rentals can happen. Vehicle data: photos, registration, revenue licence, and insurance documents for listed vehicles. Location: the pickup location an owner sets for a listing; the app may use your device location to show it on a map. Camera and photo library access is used only when you choose to take or upload a photo.
We process your data to operate the marketplace you signed up for (performance of a contract): verifying identities, letting owners review rental requests, and sending booking notifications. Identity verification also serves our legitimate interest in keeping the platform safe from fraud.
Identity and vehicle documents are stored in a private storage bucket and are never publicly accessible — they can only be viewed through short-lived signed links (15 minutes). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Vehicle listing photos are public, as they appear in the marketplace.
When you submit a rental request, the vehicle owner sees your name, verification status, and the ID details you attach — this is required so the owner can approve the rental. Our administrators review documents during verification. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
We keep your data while your account is active. Rental history, reviews, and messages are kept to preserve the integrity of past transactions for both parties.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings in the app or on this website. Deletion anonymizes your account: your name, contact details, ID numbers, and all uploaded identity documents are permanently removed. Completed rental records and reviews remain, attributed to “Deleted user”, to preserve the other party’s history.
You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can view and edit your profile data in the app; for a copy of your data or any other request, contact us via the Support section. If you are in the EU/EEA, you additionally have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (GDPR).
We send transactional push notifications and emails about your rentals (requests, approvals, reminders, verification results). We do not send marketing email without your consent.
If we materially change this policy, we will update this page and note the new date above. Continued use of SeekWheelz after an update means you accept the revised policy.
